This 145 mph Maple Bat test was conducted at Major League Baseball’s research center located at Lowell/UMASS. Testing was conducted on 14 professional model, large volume bats (7 with Bat Glove and 7 without) with a few having severe slope of grain.

Testing speed ranged from 125-187 mph. All 7 maple bats without the Bat Glove were a multi-break failure with dozens of shards and large, sharp fragments flying everywhere.

The 7 maple bats with the Bat Glove applied were also multi-break failures but all the fragments were contained. Not a fragment went flying. The Bat Glove was 7 for 7 with a 100% containment rate.
